Hi there! It's Alexis :)

Have you ever felt like you're constantly trying to keep up with the world’s changes, especially in your consulting gigs? You're not alone. At Safe Space Strategies, we totally get the ups and downs that come with our line of work, especially with all the buzz about daylight saving time and how it messes with our routines. So, let's dive into this together and figure out how to ride these waves like pros.

Sunlight and You: More Than Just a Good Insta Pic

My daughter introduced me to what the "Golden Hour" means for your selfies... #Love... but did you know sunlight is actually super important for our health and mood? As consultants, we’re often stuck in offices or hopping between meetings, and we might not get enough of that sweet, sweet natural light. Recognizing how this affects our bodies and minds is like finding a secret weapon for our well-being.

At Safe Space Strategies, we're all about looking at the big picture. Feeling a bit off during these times is totally normal. It’s our body’s way of trying to figure things out. I just bought this Circadian Clock metal tin to help me stay mindful as I aim to be even more intentional with warm accountbaility and gracious with myself and others. (It's a bit rustic because I placed it in my outdoor herb garden when I bought it this summer...I like it!)

If you're an early bird, catching that soft morning light can kickstart your day like a natural caffeine boost. And for the night owls among us, finding ways to get that warm, calming afternoon light can help wind down your brain after a day of intense thinking.

But here’s the real deal: the light in your workspace matters big time. Whenever you can, try to soak in natural light. Set up your desk near a window, take your calls outside, or even suggest meetings in sunnier spots. It's all about making the most of the daylight hours you have while you’re grinding away.

And hey, when natural light isn't playing ball (hello, winter afternoons), let’s get smart about artificial lighting. Those gentle, warm-toned LED lamps? They're your allies. They can help keep your energy up without being too harsh or messing with your sleep vibes later.

In short, think of your workday as a dance with light. The time you enter and leave, and how you light up your space, can totally change the rhythm of your day.

PS. If you have a "student heart" and need a recess and/or are a visual learner, check out this tiktok video and take a break.

So, what's the takeaway? Adapting to change isn’t just about what's happening around us; it's about tuning in to what's happening inside us. The changing daylight, the demands of our work – they’re just parts of the map on our consulting journey. Let’s take these changes in stride, with a bit of empathy, resilience, and a whole lot of commitment to our well-being.

Remember, your journey's as unique as you are, but you’re definitely not walking it solo. Here at Safe Space Strategies, we're more than just a consulting firm – think of us as your go-to pals for making your consulting life brighter and more sustainable.
