I have known Ms. Smith since the fall of 2009, when she began working with NCEBC. Initially, Ms. Smith was responsible for helping to organize our annual convention. Typically, thousands of educators and others from all over the country attend the convention to take advantage of the opportunity to learn and network. Ms. Smith immediately grasped NCEBC’s mission and the goals of the convention. She put her tremendous organizational skills and incredible vision to work and more than fulfilled her initial responsibility to help us design a successful convention. As a result of her efforts, the convention was chock-full of comprehensive information for participants to take back to their students and colleagues and also provided a comfortable platform for attendees and panelists to connect with one another. Ms. Smith quickly gained my trust and the trust of the NCEBC Board and staff. NCEBC invited Ms. Smith into the role of Special Assistant to the Executive Director, and we have been thrilled with her creativity and drive, her passion and commitment to the work that we do, and her unrelenting belief that the work she does and the work of NCEBC will make a difference in this world. Ms. Smith consistently goes above and beyond all of our expectations.
