Finding Parakletos in Business: A Personal Reflection

I'm Alexis, a name passed down to me from my mother. As I've journeyed through life and matured in my Christian faith, the Greek origin of "Alexis" – meaning "helper" – has taken on profound resonance. Recognizing this divine "calling" to serve and uplift, I embraced it as the cornerstone of Safe Space Strategies.

Our vision at Safe Space Strategies is to be that trusted anchor for nonprofit organizations and family-owned businesses, empowering them much like a "helper" would, guiding them through challenges and channeling opportunities for a sustainable and impactful future. Our mission, shaped by my gift of Encouragement (detailed in my bio), revolves around providing tailored consulting, contracting, and coaching services. Today, in keeping with our ethos of empowerment and guidance, I'm inspired to share with you a comforting and insightful term: Parakletos.

"Parakletos" is a Greek term found in the New Testament, especially in John's writings. Translated in various ways, it encompasses meanings such as "Comforter," "Counselor," "Advocate," "Helper," and "Intercessor." It mirrors the essence of our mission at Safe Space Strategies. Just as the Parakletos offers comfort, guidance, and advocacy, we aim to be the comforting guide for organizations and businesses, assisting in their unique challenges, from governance issues to succession planning.

Much like the Parakletos, we advocate for our clients, providing them with tools, strategies, and insights to navigate their challenges and harness opportunities. The continuous presence of the Parakletos in a believer's life parallels our commitment to fostering long-term, meaningful relationships with our stakeholders.
